Rubbings

For this task Steve asked us to find some textures or rubbings. For this our class was looking around the classroom for some designs either on the floor or on the wall. I decided to go outside to look for walls to rub on using a paper and a oil pastel but in this case i couldn't find anything. So i went back to class and done a rubbing on a wall and on the fan. On my first paper i done a lot of rubbings including a tubing on the costa cover for the coffee and in found a leaf in a local park which i used to rub on. Also outside our classroom the floor is spotty so i done a rubbing on that. But i made a mistake which led me not to scan the paper.I chose the wrong colour to rub with which was a light pink and it would've been a lot better if i rubbed with a darker colour. When i was scanning it the rubbings did not come up as it was really light so i couldn't see anything.
This was the second paper that i rubbed with and as you can see i chose a darker colour to work with. It came out really good and i would've done a lot more but i didn't have enough time. Next week i will do a lot more rubbings with the same colour so i won't make the same mistake again. The top rubbing was off from a wall and the bottom rubbing was off from the fan cover. I will do 8 more designs next week to work with and make some interesting A3 and A4 backgrounds.

This is my puppet drawing that i drew using the Wacom Inkling. How i drew this was i used the Wacom Inkling and clipped it onto the edge of a A4 paper and to stop the paper moving i placed sticky notes on each sides. Then i started drawing my puppet onto the A4 page and it came out good as shown above.
This is my drawing that i have edited using photoshop. As you can see i have added a lot of effects such as blood and scars using the paint tool, also i darkened the hair and the shoes to black. I think the process of using the Wacom Inkling is really useful and i found it easy use,why i found it easy because its basically drawing as u get the pen and start drawing and it the device records everything that i do with the pen. Other people have found it hard to use the Wacom Inkling as i found it easy and very good to use. After i transferred my drawing onto Photo Shop and then started to use colour and add in more effects.

This was my first attempt of editing the font "Puppet Show" as this was wrong because the theme was the film sinister and we were meant to make it look scary and mainly the 2words dripping with blood.
This was my second attempt as it came out right and i followed the sinister theme. I think this looks more sinister than the 1st attempt
I used a picture from google to put on the background for my word, i chose a pool of blood picture and placed it behind the word puppet show. Then i expanded the text and then drew the shapes onto each word to make an effect.

Firstly i duplicated the duck and flipped it. I made one smaller and the other one bigger, then i select both then went to object select pattern and make, that saved the pattern into the swatches panel.
On this screenshot i putted together 2 ducks where i made one smaller and the other one bigger. I changed the colour and started using shapes to place my pattern in. As you can see i have mixed the colour green and yellow into 1 shape and the other shapes i done orange and yellow, i didn't go over the top with the colours as i kept it simple.

This is colour panel what allows you to change the colours and mix colours for my ducks.

As you can see this is the normal duck that i haven't outlined. This is the template of the duck and this is where i have started fromThis duck has the beak outlined with the pen tool  and i used the direct selection tool to manipulate the anchor points. I had to reduce the number of anchor point because there were alot of curves including the beak which i found hard. Also the eyes was difficult to do as it was a small area to work on. The pupil of the eye was hard because it took time to get the shape in, after everything i filled in the main parts with colour.

On the 3rd duck screenshot i outlined everything including the eyes and i filled the eye in black and the beak mouth in dark orange. The tools i have used is the pen tool and the direct selection tool

On the layer screenshot i had to show step by step what i created so i created 5-7 layers,Which was useful because i can go back to any layer and edit anything i want by turning the eye off.

As you can see on the second screenshot i used the 3d extrude and bevel option to create my word puppet. What that option allows you to do is you can use a range of design to change the style of the word puppet and as you can see on the yellow word i used the rubber tool and that makes it look like its plastic. The cube on the last screenshot allows you to move the word around to any angle and the perspective allows you to do it swell. To use the bevel tool you need to go on effect then 3d then extrude and bevel option and that allows you to play around with the word that you have chosen. It will be ideal to use a bright colour as it will stand out more and it will look more clearer and it will be presented nicely.
