Rubbings

For this task Steve asked us to find some textures or rubbings. For this our class was looking around the classroom for some designs either on the floor or on the wall. I decided to go outside to look for walls to rub on using a paper and a oil pastel but in this case i couldn't find anything. So i went back to class and done a rubbing on a wall and on the fan. On my first paper i done a lot of rubbings including a tubing on the costa cover for the coffee and in found a leaf in a local park which i used to rub on. Also outside our classroom the floor is spotty so i done a rubbing on that. But i made a mistake which led me not to scan the paper.I chose the wrong colour to rub with which was a light pink and it would've been a lot better if i rubbed with a darker colour. When i was scanning it the rubbings did not come up as it was really light so i couldn't see anything.
This was the second paper that i rubbed with and as you can see i chose a darker colour to work with. It came out really good and i would've done a lot more but i didn't have enough time. Next week i will do a lot more rubbings with the same colour so i won't make the same mistake again. The top rubbing was off from a wall and the bottom rubbing was off from the fan cover. I will do 8 more designs next week to work with and make some interesting A3 and A4 backgrounds.
